It feels like we took these pictures weeks ago, although it was just eight days ago. Looking back at these images I remember it was an extremely hot day. For those of you who have never experienced Fall/Winter in LA I will give you a bit of an insight into it. The days start getting shorter, so as you’re driving home in the evening you start seeing Christmas lights all over the streets, outside homes and inside our malls. Everything begins tasting and smelling like pumpkin as well (pumpkin spice latte, pumpkin chips, pumpkin pudding, pumpkin spice candles, etc. We love pumpkin flavor lol) However, when you step out your home during the day you would think its Summer. Days are hot and dry, at about 75F to 80F degrees. For the past eight years it hardly rains as well. So we have to make an effort to get into the Holiday spirit.
The streets of LA always provide such wonderful backgrounds for shooting pictures. There is just so much open space, modern buildings, and so much color due to our palm trees. This definitely translates through the pictures. My outfit idea that day was build around my NICHOLAS embossed crop top for a Los Angeles Chic look. I bought this top a few weeks back and couldn’t figure out how to wear it since it’s made of such thick material and has a distinct aesthetic. Originally I was thinking about wearing it as a layering piece that day.
However, with the day being extremely hot I decided to wear it with a simple skater skirt. A skirt is always a great option for me. It allows me to stay cool and comfortable, as well as a bit dressed up. We were going to a nice Sunday brunch, so the outfit was appropriate for the place we were going to. My black suede heels and clutch enhanced the entire look with the gold details they provided.
