NYE Ready: Glitz and Glam

It’s time for another New Year’s Eve look!! Are you ready??

Ok so I was going for a glitz and glam look for today’s NYE outfit. My thoughts for this look were sequins, lady like silhouettes, and light colors. Sometimes we tend to gravitate towards shades of grey, blue or black for party dresses and evening wear, especially during the winter months. But, in my opinion you are able to make a much greater fashion statement by choosing a lighter color palette. So when I first came across this white skirt right away I knew it would be perfect for the look I was planning. A pleated skirt is always extremely chic and oh so feminine. Right after trying on the skirt I knew I wanted to wear it with a crop top due to it’s high rise fit. It’s a great way to show off a bit more skin while still keeping it posh.

Now moving on to the beautiful top I’m wearing. Let me start off by saying that I LOVE crop tops big time, as well as sequins and truly anything sparkly. If I could wear an embellished crop top like this one everyday I would be the happiest girl ever 🙂 lol So when I saw this top from Alice + Olivia at my local Nordstrom it was love at first sight. Instantly I thought of you guys and figured this would be a great top to share on the blog. The top is completely embellished with sequins, beads, and rhinestones. Yet, it’s a lot lighter than most other embellished items. So that’s a plus! The top is actually part of a set. However, for the look I was going for the matching skirt wasn’t a very good option. I wanted the top to be the focal point of the entire look. I continued with a bright red lipstick, beige pointy heels, and a blue/purple beaded clutch.

As for my hair I straightened the top and curled the tips inward with a wide barreled curling iron. Doing this created slight volume at the ends. Since my hair is really long, it can sometimes get in the way. So I pinned the left side of my hair behind my ear in order to get it out of my face. I was also able to show off my earring and a bit more of my top by just doing this.

This outfit is definitely suited for a night full of celebration and optimism for the new year. You’ll be sure to get many compliments and have lots of fun wearing it.
