Do you ever take a stroll down the men’s department and see a few items you would want for yourself? I know I’ve done that, and a few times I’ve actually made a purchase in the men’s section for myself. To be quite honest, I’ve always wanted to wear a tuxedo. So today I finally went for it and gave the tuxedo look a modern and feminine spin of my own.
My tuxedo inspired blouse is what stirred up the idea of coming up with a look like this. The pintucked panel in the front, classic collar, and bow tie were the ideal tuxedo-like aesthetics I was looking for. In order to create a sleek and flattering silhouette I chose a high waisted slim fit pant. The ankle length gives this entire look a sense of classic sophistication and it serves as a great way to put some focus on to your shoes as well. Now moving on to the jacket, I definitely could’ve worn a black tuxedo jacket and the look would’ve still been a success. However, I am always looking for that fun and exciting piece in all my outfits that is just so unexpected, a statement piece, the WOW factor I call it. Today that was definitely my cropped sequined jacket. It’s a collarless open-front blazer, crafted from meshy lightweight fabric and decorated with tons of sparkly black as well as silvertone sequins.
I wanted my hair to complement the outfit, rather than clutter it up. So I got it out of my face and into a high pony tail with loads of volume. This was the perfect hairstyle for this type of look.
