Happy Memorial Day! What are you guys doing to commemorate our service men and women? Anything exciting like visiting memorials, hosting family bbq’s, or attending parades? As for me, I’ll be honoring them from home and sending out a prayer for our troops that are still on active duty. I’m trying to take it easy this holiday and just catch up on pending emails and blog posts, like this one.
Memorial Day unofficially marks the beginning of summer, which is my favorite season. I can’t really complain though, our weather hasn’t been bad at all lately, with the exception of a few cloudy days here and there. On warm nights I get away with wearing outfits like this striped crop top and asymmetrical skirt. Last week was brutal since it was finals week. So when I finally went home after living in the library for three days the plan was to snuggle next to Maggie, sleep for a week, and recover. But, instead I was peer pressured to go out and celebrate the end of the semester. I have to be honest, it didn’t take much convincing. lol Right away I had an espresso shot and I was ready to go. I didn’t have trouble putting an outfit together in short notice either since I really wanted to wear this awesome black and white crop top and black skirt that I bought a few days back. This outfit instantly became one of my favorites, it’s a combination of so many things that I absolutely love–cut outs, asymmetrical fit, two-piece, form fitting… do I need to go on? I also think it’s really important to feel good in whatever it is that you wear. This look definitely had an effect on me, I felt extra beautiful and confident in it.
