Hey guys! If you follow me on instagram (@posh_scene ) then you must know I’m absolutely obsessed with the minions. I love them sooooo much and can’t get enough of them lol. Plus, with all the publicity the movie is still getting even after the movies release its truly hard to miss them, they are literately everywhere, and have even become twinkies. I was seriously counting down the days until July 10th in order to be able to go watch the movie. So having said that, the morning we shot this look we were getting ready to find a spot to take pictures by when I noticed this wall full of minion posters down Santa Monica Blvd. Right away I told my boyfriend to pull over and bust an impromptu photoshoot by the side of an extremely busy street. I think he was more embarrassed than I was, since I was super excited and wanted to take a picture with each minion. It was loads of fun and I got pretty fun and colorful shots, which is always my main purpose. 🙂 Ok ok, enough minion talk and lets get on with the good stuff.
Today we are going to be talking about the newest take on the color blocking trend: fresh, colorful and daring! I got inspired to wear something a lot more bright and bold by none other than the queen herself, Queen Bey that is. I’m sure you guys saw pictures of her from a few weeks back walking down the streets of New York wearing a tangerine orange sweater, fuchsia leather shorts, hot pink pumps, and an emerald handbag. Her outfit was electrifying and on point. So when I saw her I got inspired right away, and started looking through my closet and realized I had very similar items. I love a good skater skirt, especially one that is full of volume and made of scuba material. So I made sure to pair mine with a ribbed sweater, to add dimension to the look. Following Beyonce’s color scheme to the T I also wore my hot pink pumps. Since I don’t have a green bag, I opted for a green pair of sunnies instead. This look was really a great example of colorblocking at its finest!
