Sailor Jerry? More Like Sailor Posh

Ahoy, lady! I’m no Sailor Jerry, but you can certainly call me Sailor Posh 😉

Have you noticed that the nautical trend is no longer just a summer fling?! It’s crossed over onto Fall, and I must say I like it very much! The structured look, high waisted fit, and those buttons. Yes please! Lately I’ve been buying a few of these sailor inspired pants and skirts to give my wardrobe a bit of an update. I think they’re going to be a great addition. The colors these pieces are coming in are also really great, for instance look at the skirt I’m wearing today. It’s definitely not your typical brown, it’s more of a rust color. Since I’m wearing this skirt with the intention of making it look more fall appropriate, I paired it with a light knit turtleneck and booties. The weather outside is pretty warm so I had to keep my clothing light. But, once the temperature drops I’m definitely pairing this skirt with a chunky knit sweater, a coat, tights and over the knee boots. I wanted my outfit to have a bit of a color pop, yet I couldn’t add more layers since it was hot outside. So instead I added a marsala colored bag, a fall color favorite this season. I also decided to do something new with my hair, as I wanted it out of my face. So I parted my hair in half and did twisties on each side.
