The other day while shopping at my favorite store, Bloomingdales, I saw the prettiest and comfiest jacquard print knit skirt. I was in love! And even though it wasn’t in my size, I held onto it the whole time I was in the store. I knew it would be perfect for fall, spring, summer, and whether I was going for a business dressy look or for a night out. After an hour though I really had to let it go, since 1. my bf wanted to leave the store and 2. a sales associate asked me if I was going to take it since another person wanted it and it was her size. 🙁
Anywho, I went home with the intention of buying it online and pairing it up with sooo many tops I already have in my closet. But, to my surprise when I went into the Bloomingdales website I found that the skirt was part of a two piece set. YAY! I love two piece sets so much. I like that they can be worn together as one outfit, or separate as two other outfits. The combos are endless, specially since it’s a black and white set. Black and white is the best color combination since everyone looks great in it, and it goes very well with every other color like red, yellow, grey, green, fuchsia, etc. As you can probably notice I already have a lot of pairings in mind for this knit crop top and skirt set, but today I wanted to keep them together.
I was going for a chic, yet stylish look. Even though I really wanted to throw in a pop of color and add extra accessories into my outfit I held myself and didn’t do that. Sometimes it’s best to keep things simple, stick to the classics, and the outcome turns out to be even better than what you imagined. I put on my two piece set, the jacquard print is already very eye catching, for that reason I kept my makeup very neutral. I used a light pink shade on my lips, a rose colored blush on my cheeks, and hardly used any eyeshadow. My shoes, black patent heels, always add a sense of sophistication to every look, they’re truly a closet staple. I did want to use jewelry, but not too much of it. Therefore, I did wear a large statement necklace, but made sure it wasn’t too shiny and distracting. It definitely complemented the look without being over bearing. Now, for my hair I knew I had to tease it a little extra. A form fitting two piece set requires voluminous locks. So I curled the tips, teased them, and fluffed my hair with my fingers back and forth a few times.
