Top 2 of 5 | February Trends : Floral Appliqués

February 24, 2017Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

Lately I've been drawn to clothes with floral appliqués. I just find them so pretty and colorful. It gives any clothing piece a pop of color with a hint of western and feminine flare. Like the shirt dress I'm wearing on the picture above, it would otherwise be a very basic piece of clothing, but the floral embroidery makes it a little more special.

How to Combine Suede and Florals

November 8, 2016Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

Transitioning from summer to fall is my favorite time of the year, since we slowly say goodbye to flowy shirts and boho vibes and start welcoming structured silhouettes and deep colors. And what better way do that than with suede and florals, right? You don't have to have a huge wardrobe budget to put together a similar outfit, instead you just need a few key pieces in order to truly embrace this type of look. You probably have at least one of these items somewhere in your closet already. I'm telling you its pretty easy to transition your leg-flaunting looks into cooler weather months, and you can always start off with a miniskirt, and even better if it comes in ultra soft suede and a subtle side slit like the one I'm wearing. The great thing about this mini is that it's cleanly styled and very versatile. So it can be worn with a simple white T, long chunky cardigan and knee high boots for a clean look full of basics or you can style it like I did; with a vintage inspired floral print turtleneck with shirred details at the cuffs and neck. Comfort was on my mind when putting this look together since I knew I was going to be in and out of my car all day long running through the city, so I wore my square heeled booties that are perfect for busy days. To go really casual I opted for a backpack instead of a purse as well. It's quite fun to carry my things in a backpack, it takes me back to my childhood, and embodies comfort at its best! :)

Floral Hemline

August 27, 2016Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

I know it's still summer time, and I should be wearing nothing but sandals, espadrilles, and wedges, however I just can't keep myself from wearing my black pointy boots. I should keep them tucked away until the end of September, but to be honest I keep them out all year round. I wore my lovely pointy booties with a relaxed shirt that just went perfect with the skirt I paired it with. At first I thought the shirt was denim, but as I got to touch it I noticed it was very soft. Then when I tried it on I realized it was boyfriend fit. Even better! :) I really wanted to wear a casual everyday look, the floral hemline really helped out, it gave off a bit of a modern-boho flare without looking too "festival-ly." I still felt like I needed an extra little something to complete the entire look. Something light and trendy. A cute little choker did the trick!

Red, White, and Sparkle

August 2, 2016Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

I just realized how I always end up wearing red, white and blue on Independence day. I think about what to wear on 4th of July for days and tell myself that I'm not going to wear those three colors since I don't want to look like a human flag. Yet, somehow I still end up wearing them lol. However, this year I skipped the stars and went for a red floral print romper, and instead of blue I replaced it with something more magical--sparkles! I kept my outfit really casual with a crisp white pair of converse and a bandana around my neck. And, finished it off with a saturated red lipstick on my lips.

Nothing like a flowery romper on a hot summer day

July 22, 2016Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

87F degrees seriously screams for something flowy and cool, that's why there is truly nothing like a flowery romper on a hot summer day. Not only does the floral print make you look pretty and feminine, but the lightweight material and loose fit keeps you from sweating profusely. I like wearing mine with wedge heels, light makeup and a stylish bag. A floral romper outfit is the official outfit of the summer I would say. It can take you from day to night without any effort. And who doesn't like that?
