The idea of wild life always brings thoughts of cheetahs, green lush vegetation, giraffes, exotic prints and a bit intimidating as well. However, not until I saw the new Sakroots Seni Collection did I realize wild life could also be Read more...

Babydoll Blue

February 18, 2017Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

When I usually think about a babydoll, lingerie comes right into my mind. However, this dress was called 'babydoll,' which btw I loved! It made me feel precious when I was wearing it. Which is so super random I know lol. Any who... I liked the flare fit of it so much and the contrasting mesh detailing in the arms and neckline. But, I wanted to make my outfit look less dressy and just relaxed. An easy way to make a really girly dress more chill is to add printed booties and a hat. I always love a pretty dress that's also multi functional. You can totally dress this type of dress up for a night out by pairing it with tights, a white oversized faux fur jacket, black leather booties--and of course keep the hat!

Velvet Crush

January 13, 2017Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

I have a crush and you won't believe to what? Well... I'm pretty sure the title gave it away ;). But, I'm serious, I have a major crush on velvet. I just can't explain it. It's soft, it's pretty, it's a major 90's throwback, and it just looks so good in any color, but specially burgundy. This luxe, velvety dress with a baroque pattern. As for the details my favorite part is the touch of lace. I find the detailing to be so romantic. I finished the look with over the knee black boots and a mini handbag with a fluffy pom pom accessory.

How to Combine Suede and Florals

November 8, 2016Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

Transitioning from summer to fall is my favorite time of the year, since we slowly say goodbye to flowy shirts and boho vibes and start welcoming structured silhouettes and deep colors. And what better way do that than with suede and florals, right? You don't have to have a huge wardrobe budget to put together a similar outfit, instead you just need a few key pieces in order to truly embrace this type of look. You probably have at least one of these items somewhere in your closet already. I'm telling you its pretty easy to transition your leg-flaunting looks into cooler weather months, and you can always start off with a miniskirt, and even better if it comes in ultra soft suede and a subtle side slit like the one I'm wearing. The great thing about this mini is that it's cleanly styled and very versatile. So it can be worn with a simple white T, long chunky cardigan and knee high boots for a clean look full of basics or you can style it like I did; with a vintage inspired floral print turtleneck with shirred details at the cuffs and neck. Comfort was on my mind when putting this look together since I knew I was going to be in and out of my car all day long running through the city, so I wore my square heeled booties that are perfect for busy days. To go really casual I opted for a backpack instead of a purse as well. It's quite fun to carry my things in a backpack, it takes me back to my childhood, and embodies comfort at its best! :)
