How to Style a Long Bomber Jacket

February 18, 2017Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

Think long bomber jackets are only for guys? Well, I'm here to tell you to think again. You can definitely rock one of these oversized jackets well into the colder months and if you mix and match the right way you can even wear them year round. When wearing a long bomber jacket I would suggest to work with hemlines, combining long and short pieces adds dimension to a look. This makes your style unique and edgy.

How to Combine Suede and Florals

November 8, 2016Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

Transitioning from summer to fall is my favorite time of the year, since we slowly say goodbye to flowy shirts and boho vibes and start welcoming structured silhouettes and deep colors. And what better way do that than with suede and florals, right? You don't have to have a huge wardrobe budget to put together a similar outfit, instead you just need a few key pieces in order to truly embrace this type of look. You probably have at least one of these items somewhere in your closet already. I'm telling you its pretty easy to transition your leg-flaunting looks into cooler weather months, and you can always start off with a miniskirt, and even better if it comes in ultra soft suede and a subtle side slit like the one I'm wearing. The great thing about this mini is that it's cleanly styled and very versatile. So it can be worn with a simple white T, long chunky cardigan and knee high boots for a clean look full of basics or you can style it like I did; with a vintage inspired floral print turtleneck with shirred details at the cuffs and neck. Comfort was on my mind when putting this look together since I knew I was going to be in and out of my car all day long running through the city, so I wore my square heeled booties that are perfect for busy days. To go really casual I opted for a backpack instead of a purse as well. It's quite fun to carry my things in a backpack, it takes me back to my childhood, and embodies comfort at its best! :)

Suede Mini Skirt

August 3, 2016Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

Today's post is more of a style tips guide on how to wear a pink suede mini skirt outfit. Suede is usually thick, kind of heavy and can get hot really fast even if it's faux. So, when you wear it during summer it's best to wear it as a skirt. In my opinion, leave the suede jackets and body hugging dresses for fall, or if you must wear them do it after 7pm, once the day starts cooling down a bit and you won't be miserable. When I saw this skirt for the first time I just knew it was going to be a staple in my closet. I know the color will be a little hard to wear all year round, but I think I can make it work even in December. For now though, it's perfect! We are still in summer and blush pink is the IT color. It's boxy shape provides a girly chic structure, somewhat inspired by the 70's. The golden details make the skirt seem even more special and expensive. In order to make this suede mini pop even more I knew I had to pair it with a well fitted bodysuit. Doing this would make the color stand out even more! (as if that's possible ;)) lol. However, since the skirt is mini, and I was wearing it during the day while on-the-go, I made sure to wear a long sleeve bodysuit. This balanced the entire look and made me feel comfortable all day long. I didn't have to worry about anything slipping, popping out, or riding up. If I were to be wearing it for a night out with the girls then I would've definitely worn it with a deep V-neck bodysuit and strappy heels.

Suede, suede, suede. It’s all about suede right now, that and faux suede as well ;). I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but suede is scorching hot right now. Like, you can’t go to any store without bumping into a Read more...

My New Best Friend, the Wrap Skirt

July 19, 2016Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

I've recently discovered the wrap skirt, it's not exactly a pencil skirt, in fact it's a lot better. I think of it as skirt 2.0 lol. I think what I really like about it is that I'm able to adjust it perfectly to my body. It hugs me in all the right places and if it's a little too tight then I can always loosen it up a little. Today I paired my suede wrap skirt with a cream crop top that has a great criss cross detail on the back. Both items are made of very thick and lovely material, making my outfit look a little more expensive than what it actually was. As always I wore a nude pair of pumps and added a few new accessories that I've been trying out recently.

2 Year Blogiversary: My Current Thoughts

July 19, 2016Evelyn Madera Leave a Comment

Light pink, blush, dusty rose... Whatever you call this lovely shade of pastel pink, I just want to say that I love it! This color is just so beautiful, I'm wearing it almost every week. I find it so charming and feminine, ideal for warm weather and any skin tone. My top lends itself to be flirty and fun, that's why I paired it with my favorite white denim jeans and cute jewelry.

Looking Fresh in my Bomber Jacket

May 16, 2016Evelyn Madera

Lately I've been feeling like my closet needs an influx of new styles and colors. Like something more masculine, boxy, and possibly even find it in an interesting print. And in my latest mall trip I was lucky enough to find exactly what I was looking for--a bomber jacket in olive green. This classic bomber jacket offers such a fresh look. I feel super sports-luxe cool in it. The cut is modern, and the perforated mesh in rich olive is just perfect. So what's not to love? Can you believe this is actually my first time owning a bomber jacket? Now I want one in every color. It's truly the latest trend in jackets. It goes with everything, skirts, denim cutoffs, even suede leggings like I paired it.

Newest IT Color – Blush

May 4, 2016Evelyn Madera

Move over black, shades of grey, bright pops of color, and white--the new <em>IT</em> color is blush! Neutral shades and light pink hues are seen everywhere. Blush clothing is what to wear right now. My favorite looks are always feminine and pretty. So what better way to look just lovely for the day in a blush toned outfit. And let's keep in mind that we don't have to wear a dress to look ladylike and graceful. This can be done with a pair of jeans and a turtleneck like I did today.
